Clarity matters to me. It’s the difference it makes to people’s projects, businesses and ultimately their lives that keeps me doing what I do. There’s nothing more satisfying than to have someone “get” you and your point.

And of course, there’s nothing worse than being unable to find the words to say what you mean.

That’s where I come in. Providing a service that clearly and accurately delivers your message is my job. Whether I am writing or editing instruction manuals, writing mission statements or leading an in-person workshop, my goal is to get your point across in a concise, engaging way.

Integrity, humour, honesty, ethics, quality, reliability and resolution also matter to me. (Yes, I might be hard to live with!) These values guide my work as much as my collaborative practices influence my approach.

Sport has always been my love, my anchor and my teacher. For as long as I can remember, I have played, coached, officiated or organized some sport or another. While playing reminds me that I can just trust my natural physical skills, organizing or developing prompts me to tune in to my lifelong learning habit. And indeed, lifelong it has been.

Over the thirty-something years that I have coached, I have connected with all ages on the long-term athlete development pathway. In managing a sports council for many years and developing various sport and recreation organizations, getting to the heart of the matter was essential.

Now, I put all that experience and those skills to work in print in my freelance work by writing and editing sport-related materials and in-person by facilitating training workshops.
